ALL PAKISTAN INTER-UNIVERSITY DECLAMATION CONTEST FOR AWARD OF ALLAMA IQBAL SHIELD
Khyber Medical University (KMU) has organized University Declamation Contest with association of HEC for Award (both in English and Urdu) of Sir Allama Muhammad Iqbal Shield for the students of all constituent Institutes. The objectives of the contest were to enhance public speaking skills and speaking healthy positive competition, develop understanding of Socio-economic cultural and political issues among the students, divert energies of students towards healthy activities and creative thinking and encourage tolerance, non-violence and respect for others opinion among the students.
In this regard preliminary round of the 20th Contest (both in English and Urdu) was organized by KMU Directorate of sports on Thursday, April 12th 2018 at multipurpose hall of KMU. 1st, 2nd and 3rd position winners both in English and Urdu of first round were awarded with cash prizes of Rs.5000/= Rs.3000/= and Rs.2000/= respectively. Topics for Urdu Declamation were:
- ترے علم محبت کی نہیں ہے انتہا کو ئی
- تجھے کتا ب سے ممکن نہیں فراغ کہ تو
- نشا ں یہی ہے زما نے میں زندہ قو موں کا
Whereas for English Declamation the proposed topics were:
- If you wish to have the pain of love, then served Allah’s beloved
- Road a new the lesson of the truthfulness, of justice and of bravery for you will have to carry out the work of leading the world
- O’ Devine reality! Materialize before me, some day
The Judges panel was consisted of Dr. Haider Darin Director IPM&R, Dr. Najma Baseer of IBMS, Mr. Nasir Saleem Arab Dy. Controller of Exam, Mr. Atif Shaikh IPMS and Mr. Amjad Hussain, Dy Director Academics. In the Urdu contest Sahibzada Saifullah Khalid secured 1st position, Hoor Kakar and Waqas Ihsan shared 2nd position whereas in English competition Sadaf Nawab grabbed 1st position and Hamza Zarin and Ammara Hoor jointly stood at runner up position. At the end Registrar KMU, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Saleem Gandapur as chief guest along with Treasurer KMU Wing Commander® Tauqir Ahmad distributed prizes amongst the position holders.
