Entrance Test for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Medical/Dental Colleges Held

              Educational Testing and Evaluation Agency (ETEA) Entrance Test   2013 for Admissions in Medical and Dental Colleges of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was successfully held yesterday simultaneously at three different centers i.e   Islamia Collegiate Hockey Ground & Cricket Ground  of University of Peshawar, Ayub Medical College, Abbottabad and Grassy Ground Saidu Sharif Swat. The test was conducted by the Educational Testing and Evaluating Agency (ETEA) of Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, while the logistics for the registration and conduction of the test was provided by Khyber Medical University (KMU) Peshawar.

 

It is worth mentioning that Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PM&DC) Islamabad has made it mandatory the appearance in the Entrance Test for admission in Medical and Dental Institutions of both public and private sectors. In this connection a total of 19486 candidates from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including FATA, AJK, Gilgit Baltistan, Punjab, Baluchistan and Sindh appeared in the Entrance Test. The results of the test will be announced today on 26th August, and would be available on KMU website www.kmu.edu.pk as well as on ETEA website www.etea.edu.pk. In addition the result would also be communicated to the entire applicants individually via SMS through specially prepared software by IT Department of KMU.

According to details at Peshawar Centre, a total of 13818 candidates appeared in the test with 2935 candidates at Ayub Medical College, Abbottabadand and some 2733 candidates were appeared on Grassy Ground Saidu Sharif Swat for admission in medical and dental colleges of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Altogether 10785 male candidates and 8701 female candidates appeared in all the above mentioned three centers.

The Vice Chancellor of KMU Prof. Dr. Mohammad Hafizullah, who was present on the occasion, expressed his satisfaction over the arrangements for the holding the Entrance Test. He said for the first time test was held at University of Peshawar at two places and a new centre has been also introduced at Mingora Swat which has given candidates a much comfortable environment. He said the increasing number of candidates for appearing in the ETEA Test shown a great   trust on the arrangements and transparent process of the test carried out jointly by KMU and ETEA. He hoped that after introducing on line registration and establishment of new centre at Swat the reforms process would be continue in the future as well and would be tries our best to establish more new test centers in the province in the upcoming years.

Besides VC UET,Peshawar Imtiaz Hussain Gillani, Secretary Higher Education Deptt KPK Mrs. Farah Hamid, Additional Secretary HED KPK Dr. Khalid Khan and Executive Director ETEA  Mr. Abdur Rauf Jamil, key officers of KMU,UET Peshawar and senior officials of Higher Education Deptt Khuber Pakhtunkhwa were also present on the occasion.
